One of our current provisions for our Year 9 students is outdoor education with The A-Z team, learning everything from survival skills and bush craft to campfire cooking and orienteering. Over the last few months we have learnt how to write maps, build shelters, start campfires (in the rain with basic equipment), how to prepare and cook game and much more. Our students really enjoy this provision and the freedom it grants, using leadership skills and planning their own activities around the camp. In our latest day session we cooked pizzas and a vegetable soup.. all prepped and cooked on the campfire. We also began building a large shelter to protect us from the winter weather, this will be an ongoing project for the next couple of weeks and a project we are all excited about getting involved in.
